FAQ'S

Descriptions and/or Condition:

The items listed for sale on this web site are considered in "Good to Excellent" condition unless otherwise noted.  Because these items have been in use, it is normal to see some wear.  This would include utensil marks on the surface and very slight scratches either from stacking or from cutting of food.  Some wear of the trim would be normal.  It is unrealistic and unreasonable to expect a vintage item to show not wear at all. Collectors of antique/vintage items are often willing to live with a few minor flaws in order to obtain qualities lacking in modern mass-produced goods, qualities like exquisite hand painting.  Any piece with less than 80% of it's trim intact will either not be sold or will be specifically noted.

Shopping on the net is similar to shopping from a catalog....there is no way for you to physically pick the item up and inspect it.  Because of this, we make every effort to accurately describe each and every item we have for sale.  There will always be a picture of the item.  If more pictures are available, you will see a link to the other pictures.  If for any reason you feel that you would like more information please feel free to email us with your questions.

Payment Method:

We accept Money Orders, Cashiers Checks and Personal Checks.  We also accept Major Credit Card payments through PayPal.

  • Merchandise paid for through PayPal will be shipped within 2 business days after receipt of payment.

  • Merchandise paid for through Cashiers Checks and Money Orders will be shipped within 2 business days after receipt of payment.

  • Merchandise paid for with Personal Checks will not be shipped until the check has cleared our bank.  This is approximately 10 business days after deposit in our account.

  • All payments must be made in US dollars and be drawn on, or issued by a US Bank. 

Shipments:

  • Shipping Days are Tuesday and Fridays

  • Shipments are usually through FedEx within the Continental US.  International shipments are through the United States Postal Service.  If your item cannot be shipped via FedEx (because no one is home to accept shipment), please contact us to make alternative arrangements for shipping.  This may be a different price.

  • Shipments to Alaska & Hawaii will be through the US Postal Service and will be a different price than shown.  Please contact us for a price quote on shipping.

  • Shipments to our International Customers will be made through the US Postal Service and will be a different price than shown.  Please contact us for a price quote on shipping.

Returns:

We have a "No Return" policy.  However, there is always an exception to the rule.  The only exception is if the item we sold you is not as described.  You must contact us by email within 24 hours of confirmed receipt of the item. The item must be returned immediately.

  • The item must be in its original packaging and in exactly the same condition they were in when shipped with our merchandise sticker still attached. 

  • The returned item must be insured for the full amount. Until I receive the item, you are liable for the cost.

  • Due to Customs fees, I do not accept returns on International purchases. Therefore, the sale is complete when the purchased items are delivered to customer, customer's agent, or Customs Agency. Delivery itself finalizes the sale.

  • If these conditions are not met, the return will not be accepted.

Refunds:

  • I do not refund shipping costs or credit card fees.  They will be deducted from the total amount of your refund. 

  • A 10% restocking fee will be charged on any accepted return over $150. 

  • Refunds are issued immediately upon receipt of an accepted return in good condition.

Damages:

Every precaution is taken to make sure that your item arrives at its destination safe and sound.  Occasionally breakage does occur.  If this happens, it is very important that you contact us by email immediately so that we may notify the shipping company and start the claims process.  If the package you receive appears to be damaged in any way and the delivery person is still there, notify them on the spot!  It usually takes a day or so for the shippers to let us know how they are going to cover the damaged merchandise.  Once we know that the claim is valid and they will reimburse us for the loss, we ask that they send us the check and we will pay you directly for your loss.  In cases where the shipment was made through the US Postal Service, we will fill out our portion of the claim for, attach the insurance receipt and mail the for to you to file from your end.

Ordering:

To order an item, please email me at sales@dustyoldthings.com and make sure to include the following information.  Also you may click on the "Order Now" Button.  By using this button an email is generated.  You will need to provide the following information on the email. (This can be clipped and pasted into the email)

The listed price does not include shipping charges.  Once the email is received we will process the order and return a sales invoice to you at the email address you provide to us.  On that invoice will be the physical address that you can then mail your payment should you wish to mail payment rather than use PayPal.

Item Availability:

Items are sold on a first-come-first-serve basis. In fairness to all customers, new and old, we adhere to this policy strictly. Please email me first to make sure that the item is available.  As soon as the sale is confirmed,  the item will be marked Reserved and will remain reserved until the sale is completed. Payment must be received within 10 days of placing an order.

Privacy Statement:

Dusty Old Things respects your privacy.  Any personal information you provide to us including and similar to your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address will not be released, sold, or rented to any entities or individuals outside of Dusty Old Things.

  • Credit card details.  Dusty Old Things will never ask for Credit Card details and request that you do not enter it on any of the forms on Dusty Old Things.

  • External Sites.  Dusty Old Things is not responsible for the content of external internet sites. You are advised to read the privacy policy of external sites before disclosing any personal information.

  • Cookies.  A "cookie" is a small data text file that is placed in your browser and allows Dusty Old Things to recognize you each time you visit this site (customisation etc). Cookies themselves do not contain any personal information, and Dusty Old Things does not use cookies to collect personal information. Cookies may also be used by 3rd party content providers such as newsfeeds.

  • Remember The Risks Whenever You Use The Internet.  While we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information that you transmit to Dusty Old Things and you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of any passwords or other account information. In addition other Internet sites or services that may be accessible through Dusty Old Things have separate data and privacy practices independent of us, and therefore we disclaim any responsibility or liability for their policies or actions.  Please contact those vendors and others directly if you have any questions about their privacy policies.
